Assistant Professor in Computer Science Engineering (2 Positions)

DESCRIPTION

The department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) at UC Merced seeks applicants for multiple tenure-track positions at the Assistant Professor level beginning on Jan. 1, 2020. Exceptional candidates in all areas of computer science will be considered. We are particularly interested in attracting academically and culturally diverse candidates, especially those who can contribute to the growing diversity and excellence of the community through their teaching, scholarship, and service.

Qualifications: A doctoral degree (preferred by Dec. 31, 2019) in computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering or a related field is required at time of employment. Applicants should have a distinguished academic record, an exceptional potential to conduct world-class research in a collaborative environment, and a strong commitment to teaching at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. Applications must be submitted online and must include: 1) a cover letter, 2) curriculum vitae, 3) statement of research, 4) statement of teaching, 5) statement of diversity, and 6) three letters of reference submitted online. After an application is submitted, the letters of reference should be electronically uploaded by the letter writers (instructions will be provided by the application system).

Deadline: Positions are open until filled with a final closing date of Dec. 31, 2019; consideration of applications will begin on Aug. 15, 2019. Applications will continue to be received until the position is filled. The anticipated start date is Jan. 1, 2020; however, starting dates may be negotiable upon request.
